Hello everyone and thank you for reading my post.
I'am wanting to visit my canadian girlfriend in vancouver on a 6 month visitors visa.I have a letter of invitation from her stating i will be living with her free of charge and that i will be returning to work. She works for the NDP and has her own place.Iam a dual Australian/british citizen and live in Australia.I have a letter from my employer stating i have 6 months absence and a job to go back too.I have between $16500 and $18000 CAD for the 6 months.A return ticket, medical insurance and also my sister is getting married 3 months after my return flight.I have a letter from her stating her marriage and my attendance.I have a rental agreement between me and my landlord which starts when i return from canada .Payslips showing i earn between $1200 and $2000 a week.

My question is : Will i be denied a visitors visa based solely on the fact im going to see my girlfriend ?

Do i have enough money ?

What other documents should i bring ?

I'am really stressing out that my visa will be denied.

Any replys would be greatly appreciated and i thank you all for taking the time to read my post !!

What visa? You are from a visa-exempt country; that means you do not need a visa.

Hopefully OP is asking about an ETA and not thinking he needs a TRV.

Thank you both of you for your quick replys they're much appreciated.I already have an ETA and travelling on my British passport. My main concern was being denied the 6 month visit when i land.I apologise its a bit confusing.Do i get 6 months quite easily ? I've read elsewhere they make it exponentially more difficult for people if they're visiting girlfriends etc.

Will i be grilled at immigration for trying to get 6 months on my first visit ?

Depends on the officer.

One thing ofr sure, requesting 6 months is too much. Visits are short. What you are trying to do is to live with your gf, so that is abusing the terms of the visit status.

They can scold you, give you less time or they might not even care at all. No one can say.

When you enter Canada, they will ask you how long you want to stay. If you say 6 months, be ready to prove that you have the funds to support yourself during that time. Or if someone is supporting you while in Canada, have some documentation to prove it.
My husband spent 6 months with me in the past as a visitor and they did ask to see proof of funds, which we had.

In the end, it's up to the CBSA officer wether he gives you the 6 months stay, or he or she might make it shorter.

My girlfriend seems to think ill be fine but iam really stressed that they wont let me stay 6 months.I have bank statements showing i get paid close to $2000 a week after tax and will have $18000 when i land.I have a return ticket and my sisters wedding to attend so i couldnt overstay even if i wanted .My employer has written a very good letter stating my leave of absence and my full time position. My girlfriend wrote a letter stating that i have to leave for work and my sisters wedding.

Thanks everyone,im just stressing out :-(
