I live in US in Ohio relatively close to Windsor. I want to move out of US badly as I can no longer take the political nightmare this place has become. I am all new to this as I have really never left the US (been to Windsor once with family but it was long ago) and do not have a passport yet (though once I leave the US I plan to renounce citizenship). I only speak English as of now but plan on learning French and brushing up on Spanish I previously learned, but I need all the help I can get finding employment and housing. I am married and we have a 13 year old daughter which will be coming with me, I have an accounting degree and have worked with the State of Ohio Department of Taxation for 4 years now but finding employment in Canada has not been easy, if anyone can help I would be forever grateful, thanks.

Your question is too broad or not very clear. Is it that you are interested in obtaining permanent residency in Canada for you and your family, or is it that you are trying to secure a work permit and a job in Canada?

Permanent residency doesn't equate to employment, and employment doesn't equate to permanent residency. Of course, if you are a permanent resident, it makes it easier to ultimately find employment in Canada, since you have will have employment authorization for Canada. However, being employed does not grant you permanent residency and, if you don't currently have any kind of Canadian work authorization now, it will be VERY difficult to find employment in Canada unless you currently work for an international firm willing to transfer you to their Canada offices, or you have some stellar personal connections in Canada who can help try to land you a job and accompanying work permit.

All that aside, if gaining permanent residency through the Express Entry programme is your goal, then this is the forum for you. Read up about Express Entry on IRCC's website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp, and then visit this forum for more targeted questions and concerns.

If your goal, however, is to gain employment and a work permit in Canada, you may need to find another forum that specializes in that topic.

Thank you for this information, I will also look for a forum specific to employment opportunities... Since I do not have any connections or contacts from or in Canada it sounds like obtaining employment is difficult, I unfortunately do not have much money set aside so employment is a necessity for me to move permanently. Again thanks for the information though I appreciate your time and advise.
