Good day.

I am thinking about applying to the federal skilled worker visa, and, I am gathering information about Canada

I live in Venezuela, Mechanical engineer, have a master in administratives sciences (finances) , and 9 years experience in PDVSA, ( oil and gas company)

I am married, with 2 daughters, 3,5 years old and 3 months old.

I have many doubts. As i read, i have to get over 7 in the IELTS test, so, i am going to do my best.

If i get my visa, and move with my family to Canada, i have to take with me enough money for 6 months, and try to get a job, but, at the begining if i can't find a job as a engineer, could i get a job in another area, meanwhile i keep looking for as a engineer?

Could i pay for my 3 years old daughter education? pay the rent ?

What would happen if after 6 months i couldn't find a job? could i work meanwhile as a waiter for example? and cover my expenses?

I have already made my mind, but, i would like to know about any possibility

Thanks

As per my knowledge the education is free till high school

secondly, it is 50 50 chances that u may get the job, so to cover your expenses..you can do odd jobs

some time it really become frustrating when u dont even find a odd job

so the time u will land in canada, apply for the security license ...they will give u training for couple of months..and they will place you themselves in any of the xyz comapny

so in this u dont have to wait for 6 months...u will able to earn earlier.meanwhile you can do job hunting in your field..

hope this helps

Hi mish. Thanks for your answer
Great to know that education is free, and that I could apply to an odd job

What is a security license? Is this for
Working as a security guard or something like? Or an organization that help you get experience and a job?

Also, my wife is an engineer, but, she
Doesn't speak English, so, I think she would have to take a
Course once we get there. I hope to be able to pay for her course as well. Are English courses expensive there?

Thanks. Again
