Help with protected person filling PR

Dear Seniors,

I recently became a protected person, having originally come to Canada on a student visa in 2022. At the time of my student visa application in 2021, I submitted an academic IELTS, which has now expired as it's been over four years.

While filling out my PR application today, I encountered the question: "Have you taken a test from a designated testing agency to assess your proficiency in English or French?"

I'm unsure how to answer this. Should I say "yes" or "no"? Some people have advised that only a valid general IELTS (not academic) is accepted for PR purposes, and if I select "yes" based on my expired academic IELTS, it could cause issues.

I would greatly appreciate your advice on how to proceed, I know IELTS is not mandatory for convention refugees, but still want to make sure I give correct answer

The answer is "Yes" because you have.

BTW this question has no basis in your PR application but since you've taken the test, it's 'YES".

Do not overthink it
