I've fallen in love with a beautiful young lady from America
After visiting each other a lot, she stayed in Canada for 4 months and i lived with her over the winter in America, we've decided we want to live together permanently and have since become engaged. We plan on wedding in Canada in October and making Canada our permanent country of residence.

Im posting here in hopes of having a better understanding of the Visa process.

1) When we get married can my wife stay with me in Canada while we file for the proper Visas?

2) What are the proper Visas? I understand she would come in with a Visitors Visa, provided on entry? and then we would apply for Immigrant Visa, then PR visa under sponsership from me?

3) If we get married in October, how long would it be before she is in a position to be working and going to school again in Canada? (i hear us/canada couple are a shoe in for this type of thing)

4) Does anyone know what parts of her US Education would transfer over to Canadian system? (high school diploma and community college courses that are leading her to a study in sciences)

Thank you in advance to anyone with the knowledge and time to help make our plans more of a clear reality!

I would recommend that you move over to the Family Sponsorship section of the forum and start by reading some of the information there. Many of your questions are already answered there and this is the best place to ask if you want more information.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-class-sponsorship-b5.0/

To briefly address your questions:

1) Being married to you does not allow her to stay in Canada. She will have to keep her status in Canada legal by applying for extensions to her visit.
2) She would enter using her passport as a visitor and then you would sponsor her as your spouse using either the inland or outland sponsorship process. Note that until she becomes a permanent resident, she is not allowed to "live" in Canada - only visit. Make sure she doesn't look like she's trying to move to Canada when she arrives or she could be turned away.
3) Assuming you file her paperwork immediately after getting married, it will be at least six month (quite possibly more) before she can work or study in Canada. She can study sooner thought applying for a study permit - but will have to pay the very expensive foreign student fees. She can potentially also work earlier if she is able to find an employer willing to go through the process of hiring a foreign worker (most employers unfortunately aren't).
4) You should check with the schools she is interested in attending here to see how they treat US education. Most if it should be equivalent.

that's only for inland applicants, which is not recommended for US citizens, as technically they can land as an outland applicant in the same amount of time of inland AIP.

Definitely follow the link scylla posted. You will find a lot of answers to your questions on there, and there are plenty of threads by US/Canadian couples.

Yes - but only with inland applications and only once first stage approval is received which is currently taking around 8-10 months. This is why I said that it will take at least six months.
