Hi
I just got graduated and got my college letter and transcript on last friday. I am still on study permit and my wife was given spouse open work permit which both will expire on 30 March 2019. I have no job other than part time job i am working. I applied for jobs got call and they told me once i have my PGWP i should contact them again, which i think it will take 3 further months to get PGWP.
So my question is i am going to apply PGWP and what should i do to extend open work permit for my wife as we even both have Canadian Child of 4 months.
2. My wife first came on visit visa which she was given for 5 years and than after a year she applied for Spouse Open work permit. so my other question is , lets say i am not able to extend her work permit will she has to apply for visitor visa again to stay in Canada or the old visit visa which she was given for 5 years would be still valid.
3. I answered some questions on Cic for starting up application for PGWP and i put my spouse in family members question and when it took me for required documents needed, it was not mentioned there or neither there was any bracket to upload my job letter of NOC 0, A . B and neither payslip.

Please need expert advice

Hi all,

I am also in a similar situation. I am on a PGWP working as QC Technician ( as per NOC my duties are not listed/ matching with main duties mentioned on CIC website) on the other hand my spouse is currently on Visitor Record.

I am planning to change the condition on her status from VIsitor Record to Open Work Permit. Documents I have is Written employment letter (to prove my job position), pay stubs, Job description. After doing the questionnaire she was qualified for an Open work permit. However, none of the documents pertaining to my employment is been asked in the required documents section.

Am I going in the right direction or am I missing something?

1. You need a skilled job and 3 payslips for her to be able to apply for an OWP. Having a Canadian child is irrelevant.

2. A TRV has nothing to do with status in Canada. She would need to apply to change her status to visitor prior to her work permit expiring.

3. The questionnaire is generic. Applicants are required to ensure that they submit all necessary documents.
