Hi Somebody can help me with some advise?
I am PR since last Nov.2013,we arrived to Canada as a refugee claimant 3 years ago. My wife's parents have applied two times for their TRV directly from Colombia (Original country), but both applications has been denied. We have a son who is 7 years old, and he wants that he grandparents could come to visit him. Do you think if we apply for a Supervisa CIC office (Canadian Embassy in Bogota) could approve it? What can you recommend me? We are very frustrated with the previous applications, and we want that our son could share time with his grandpas.
I appreciate if you can give any light, or any advice. Do you think that it is necessary to go through an immigration lawyer?. When the parents of my wife applied for the tourist visa the only negative point was about "your family ties in Canada and or in your country of residence". Why was the problem with both applications?
Thank you so much for your help

You may face the same problems with the super visa as you have with the TRV. To be approved for either, the applicant must demonstrate they have strong ties to to their home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Because you are a past refugee claimant, CIC may be concerned your wife's parents plan to claim refugee status as well. Your wife's parents will likely need to show extremely strong proof of ties to their home country in order to be approved and convince CIC they will return home after their visit (e.g. proof of property ownership, proof of employment for both of them, proof of business ownership if applicable, proof of other immediate family members in home country, etc.).

Good luck.

As Scylla said, we have the same experience as far as refusals that most denials are due to not being able to show strong ties to the home country.
