HELP : STUDY permit about to expire!

Hi everyone,

So my study permit/TRV are about to expire, however my passport is currently getting renewed so I have to wait before applying for an extension. Is there anything I can do before I get my new passport? Also, after applying for a permit extension, am I allowed to leave Canada and come back when(if) my application is approved?

1. No without new passport you can't apply study permit.
2. Make sure you apply new study permit before it expires. if your new passport takes longer time you need to apply restoration. and you will get 3 to 4 months time to renew your study permit.
3. you dont need to leave Canada in any situation.
