My boyfriend and I have almost 1 year of relationship. He is a Canadian citizen and came to visit me in Panama to meet us personally after months of maintaining a relationship from afar. we live each one in our respective countries but a few weeks ago we decided that we want to get married. He will return to Panama again in December. We still do not have a date for our wedding but we want to get married in my country. We decided that it would be better to live in Canada for work and business reasons than my boyfriend owns.
the question is this: after marrying and applying for sponsorship, should I wait in Panama while the process is completed or can I be granted some kind of permission to reside with him in Canada pending the residence permit? I'm asking this because my boyfriend has to go back to Canada to continue his work after his vacation in December and maybe we'll take that time to get married. we decided that we could get married because I do not want to take the risk that my tourist visa will be denied since I have never left my country and I do not have a travel history even though I have a valid passport.

What do you recommend me to do?

You can apply for a TRV (tourist visa). Unfortunately chances are quite high it will be refused - in which case you'll need to wait in Panama until your PR application is processed.

However I would try to apply for the TRV. It's always possible it may be refused.
