I am a Canadian Citizen (Naturalized) and I've been a resident of Vancouver for 17 years now. I recently got married this January and we were on the process of sponsoring my wife. We halted everything once we found out she was pregnant due to the fact that it wasn't safe for her to undergo a medical exam, x-ray in particular. But now the baby is born last September, we are getting back in track. However, I've read that my baby will inherit my Canadian citizenship and all I have to do is apply for her Certificate of Canadian Citizenship. I've downloaded the application and Im a little confuse, do they require the baby's photo? At the moment my wife and my baby are both in the Philippines, and, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe I'll have to apply for the Certificate for the baby at the Canadian embassy in the Philippines, right?
I'll be going back to Philippines this december to spend time w/ my baby and wife and I'll be on my parental leave as well. Reading from this forums, it is possible for me to sponsor my wife while in Philippines for 1) I am a naturalized canadian, and 2) I did not inherit my Canadian citizenship from my parents. Though, I have to prove that I will be intending to reside in Canada in the future (am I correct in this sense?) what proof or documentation do they require? I've been trying to contact them through phone, and w/ my schedule at work, I am going nowhere. A note from work will do? bills under my name?
Furthermore, on the application for my wife's sponsorship, do we as well put the baby too? The way I see it if I'm applying for my baby's Certificate of Canadian Citizenship and put her as well on my wife's application, wouldn't that conflict with the application? Should I just put the baby under my wife's application?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks
