HELP! SIN Number problems advice needed!

Hi! I went to Services Canada to file for a SIN Number but they rejected me because under conditions for my student permit it says "unless authorized, prohibited from engaging in employment in Canada." I came to Canada in 2012. They told me I have to get it amended.

I have a couple of friends that got their SIN Number without a problem. What should I do?!
