help: should I apply for temporary visa again?

Hi, I am an international student, I already renewed my study permit for another year which ends on September 2016. I am out of Canada now, I think I should be able to return back to Canada without problem as both my study permit and temporary visa are still valid, temporary visa will expired September 30, 2014, and on my passport, NOs. of entries is multiple, can anyone pls tell me if I still need to renew my temporary visa?

Your temporary visa expire september 30th 2014? is that correct?

you need renew / apply for temporary residency visa before going back to canada.

you can do so online.

my temporary visa expires September 30, 2015 which is this year
my study permit expires september 30, 2016, which is next year.

I don't think I will have any problem coming back to Canada, but am wondering if I should renew my TRV now or I can wait until maybe next year?

You're fine. Just apply for a new one once you get back to Canada. Applying for a new visa is much easier to do in Canada.

thank u for replying, yes, I have been told that I can wait till I am back to Canada. but I also wonder if I can wait till I leave Canada next time.

when I am back to Canada, I will stay here in Canada for a while, more than a year, can I just leave my visa there? my concern is my visa will be expired this september, when I renew it next time, there will be a gap , will it affect the renewal? will officers question why I didn't renew the visa before it's expired?
