Hi Members!!

I am new to this forum, and looked around to suggestion previously posted related to my concern. but could not find sustainable information. Any Help/guidance will be appreciated.

1. i want to invite my Mother in Law, she is currently UK on Visit Visa. Is it possible she can apply online for her TRV, knowing she is visitor in UK?

2. If yes to 1, does she has to show ties to UK even though she is only there in UK for 2 months and has return flight back home in November?

Any help in this matter would be really meaningful to me and appreciated.

Hi,

If she has a return flight back to her home country in November.... then I would suggest you wait until she returns home before you apply for her TRV.

Or does she have plans to visit Canada and then return to the UK before she heads back home?

- what we have discussed among ourselves is she will come to Visit her Daughter here to celebrate her granddaughter bday, and then return back from Canada to her home country. As she has 2 dependents so she has to return back as early as possible. But can also think on that route (Visit us return to UK and then fly back home)

- Will it be an issue if she applied from UK because the processing time is much less than compared to back home?

The processing times are just estimates. Since she is a visitor in the UK - it's quite possible the processing of her visa will take a few months.

I agree that it would be far better to wait until she returns home and apply from their.

It is doable i.e. apply from the UK by proving she must return to the UK to take her flight back home. That would make her case stronger.... apart from her other strong ties in her home country.

I agree with scylla that processing time can take months. There have been a number of recent UK TRV cases where people got decisions after nearly a month.... and in one case, it took nearly 2 months.

Do not mention about her grand daughter's birthday as a reason to visit because that's not a strong reason.... work out a tourist-type visit + to meet you/your family + your kid's birthday as the reasons.

If you are prepared to take a risk with London visa office processing time then I would suggest you apply as a paper application.... do NOT apply online. In this case, mention a short visit to Canada.... and apply really soon

@Bryanna - on your point submit paper base application- even for 10-12 days of visit, VAC London will keep the passport and what if Visa Office do not return the passport on time before her date of departure?

don't you think applying online is safe risk if by chance it takes longer time than we anticipate she can always submit the passport in home country, is that correct?

Thanks for alert to apply quickly- Her son has all docs prepared as she recently applied for UK visit visa

We've seen that recent online cases, London VO, have taken 1-2 months (and not 10-12 days). Last year, people had received approvals/refusals in just 1 business day (paper apps).

It's your decision whether to apply online/paper submission. It would depend on when she has a flight back to her home country

-Sure. it was in back of my mind to prepare a trip of 14-20 days with (day to day) and show visa officer she really is tourist and not visiting for bday event only.

- Will apply Paper Base application. on this note i have checked document checklist i DONT see we have to submit any original documents for ties back home (like her source of income which is agricultural land + Pension of her Husband + her 2 Dependents current admission certificates) or is there any that i have missed?

You can submit photocopies for the evidence.

Also include a copy of her flight tickets i.e. UK to India + scan her UK visa.... to show that she must leave Canada
