Hi Guys,

Could someone please shed some light on this topic and help me understand the situation better.

At this moment, I am enrolled in a 4 semester course (Global Business Management - Centennial) and I have completed 2 semesters so far.

I was looking to transfer my credits to Lambton College under a program called Business Management - International Business with Co-op.

The only reason to transfer to this college is because I will be getting co-op that will probably help my gain Canadian experience. This program has 3 semesters in-class and the 4th semester is mandatory co-op.

Question -
What impact will this transfer have on my post-graduate work permit? Will still be getting a 2/3 year work permit?

Note: My credit transfer request has already been approved by Lambton College. As such, I am too attend 1 semester in-class and 1 semester as co-op at Lambton.

Guys. Need this information very badly as soon as possible.

Looking at the CIC site:

A work permit under the PGWPP may be issued for the length of the study program, up to a maximum of three years. A post-graduation work permit cannot be valid for longer than the student’s study program, and the study program must be a minimum of eight months in length. For example, if you graduate from a four-year degree program, you could be eligible for a three-year work permit if you meet the criteria. If you graduate from an eight-month certificate program, you would be eligible for a work permit that is valid for no more than eight months.

If the program you are transferring to is the two year one on the site, I would suspect that your PGWP would only be for two years, as it's a two year program.
