Help! Received letter of interest from Ontario - OINP

Hi All,

I am lucky and very unlucky at same time. Two days ago I received message in my CIC profile that Ontario is interested in nominating me provided that I meet the requirements. I was really happy to see that as I didn't expect anything to happen so soon. My current points are 412 and I was preparing my spouse to take IELTS to increase points. Now the problems:

• Smaller problem: Me and my wife do not have our birth certificates (we have birth certificates for children). But Ontario PNP requires birth certificates. So this could be a problem. We do have DOB listed on Passport as well as school certificate (we can provide these ofcourse). Does anyone know if school certificate or passport is acceptable instead of birth certificate?
• Bigger problem: Proof of funds. I knew that I needed certain amount of funds in bank, but I didn't expect anything to happen so fast. So my plan was to get inheritance money and deposit in account. I was also under impression that I needed 3-months bank statements. But as I read on Ontario website, I have to submit 6 months bank statements. Even if I get money tomorrow, I won't be able to show 3 or 6 months statements. Please note that, I can get money without borrowing. But I can't get 6 months bank statements. I can however get a signed letter from my father that the money is not a loan.

As I said, I am simultaneously lucky and unlucky.

If I decline this PNP offer or let it expire (I have 45 days deadline to submit application), can Ontario send letter of interest again in a few months or they will blacklist me and never consider me again? In other words, if a candidate fails to submit PNP application, is he still considered in next round (may be next year) or he will never get pnp from same state? What if he withdraws the application and makes profile again (after resolving funds issue)?

As far as the birth certificate goes, I am not sure if there is a way around that. If ther is no way for you to get a birth certificate, you should be able to provide proof of that and subkit other forms of identification instead, along with a letter of explanation. i dont see why that wouldnt work.

As for proof of funds, several people on the forum posted a similar issue and from what ai can tell most worked around a recent deposit of funds by getting a signed affidavit from their relative, showing that the money was not a loan but a gift. That way you can explain why you only meet the minimum requirement for funds recently and didnt have enough funds during the last 6 months.

Hi Baba- if you are in Canada and an Indian then you can get the birth certificate issued from BLS where they issue date of birth certificate issued by conciliate general of India...
or else you can submit an affidavit based on your educational certificate and passport that this is you DOB and you are not able to get the DOB certificate from issuing authorities back home ... for OINP i submitted the affidavit ...and it worked ... hope this helps

I am not so sure about POF but there are many threads about POF issue ... please browse thru the forum and you will get some solution ....

You can obtain a from your local municipal committee office saying that the dob not availcertifidobable and you can provide an affidavit along with that saying that my dob is not listed and i am enclosing matriculation marksheet as a proof of dob. This is the case when your dobI I did the same t is not entered in the municipal register.I did the same thing when i applied in fsw 2014. Unfortunately my application was returned coz of cap reached.
2. One of my friend got ita some months back and he showed some gift deed from parents to show pof
I Can provide the sample format for the case 1 and contact number of my friend for case 2 provide thar you pm me your mail

@baba147 . I am on the same boat. The only possibility I can think of is to create a new profile. Its worth a try . If someone has a concrete answer please share.

The smaller problem is non existent. i didn't have a birth certificate, but I sent copies of my passport, which did have my date of birth, and informed them of the situation in a cover letter, that I didn't have the birth certificate, that procuring one may take a while, that my passport has my date of birth, and that my date of birth needs to be verified before it can be on my passport, and that this passport has been used to travel around the world. I told them that if they needed me to, I would submit my birth certificate at a later date when necessary, but they never asked for it. So don't freak out about this.

The other problem- you have misinterpreted what they mean when they ask for your bank statements. They don't want to see six months of statement where the required money is in your account, they want to see six months' worth of bank statements culminating in the required balance being reflected when the final statement closes. The absolute worst case, you can show the money in your parents' (or whoever it is who is sponsoring you) account, but then get a notarized affidavit from them clarifying that the money is meant for you, and that they do not expect you to return it to them.

The problems aren't big at all- you're set to go. Calm down, and start the application process. Good luck
