I assume you sponsor your husband for PR. The requirement is, that you are able to support him, means be able to pay for all his expenses in Canada, incl. health for first three months.

CIC has access to your T4s and your Canadian tax return (I assume you filed one). So, since you are not obligated to pay tax on foreign income -if taxed in the foreign country- CIC does not have these income records. CIC is just evaluating your income situation to check whether the requirement is met that you be able to support your husband. They do this for three consecutive years. Normal procedure.

Watch out: if you worked illegally in Canada, or had a job in Canada w/o paying income tax, well, than there's a good chance that this will become an issue if you list this income. If you don't show your ability to support your husband, your sponsorship might be declined. In that case you need to find add'l sponsorship (relatives, friends, etc.).
