i have my permanent resident appointment on apr 29 2014 @ canada place. my problem is im not sure when my renewed passport will be be deliver but i was told it will take 8 weeks from the day i renew it feb 24 2014. in philippine consulate vancouver. what if the day comes i dont have my passport.? would a valid id will be enough to present it. ? also i need to seek advise , im divorce here in canada, so ive changed all my ids to my maiden name except for my philippine passport. is it possible for me to use my maiden for my pr card? thanks need urgent reply.

Your PR card will be issued to you in the name that was used in the application and the name that appears on your passport or identity document that you used to apply. You can change your PR card at a later time to reflect your new name but I am 99.9% sure they will not change initial card.edit said:
You must have your passport to land. You should contact your local embassy, or wherever it is that your passport is being issued from and let them know that you are scheduled to land on Apr 29. Perhaps they can ensure that your passport will be returned to you.
