Hello
Somebody knows how long the canadian embassy in mexico take to do the process of the police Informe de datos registrales?
3 weeks?
4weeks ?
They give me 90 days to provided to cic local office.

Thanks

you should email them and see if you can do the PGR and SSP by yourself. For PGR all you need is a carta poder and the other requirements listed on PGR website, and SSP the same (but even less requirements). I don't know where your family is in Mexico, but SSP is only available in Mexico city and a direct family member has to get it on your behalf, but it takes one day. The PGR is now available in every state and takes 10 days. You can get the Constancia letter for the PGR from your local Mexican embassy in Canada.

If you are running out of time that might be your best bet, I don't know how long it takes to get it via the embassy, but I would imagine it would take 4-5 weeks, all depending of course.

Hope this helped.

hello

thank you for your help
yes that's why I'm worried because for sure its gonna be like 2 months and Christmas time is coming maybe even more time,
in your case you got everything your self ?

Yes we did, it took us about 11 days in total

First, don't worry, Valeco - this is easy to address. You have 2 possible paths:

1. If you have family in Mexico, you can have them process both the required Mexican Police Certificates:
- PRG: contact your closest Mexican Embassy/Consulate and ask them for a letter of request for the PGR and then send it to family (along with your fingerprints, photos, carta poder simple, etc) to do it for you. The PGR gets it done in two weeks, maximum.
- SSP: you can only have a direct family member do it for you (parent who has his/her name on your birth certificate or sibling with the same two last names or child on whose birth certificate you appear). They usually issue it on the spot (at the office in Coyoacan in Mexico City)
You would then have to have them translated by a certified translator and submit the originals and the translations to Vegreville.

2. Alternatively, you can send the Canadian Embassy in Mexico the photos, fingerprints, and birth certificate and they can process it for you. While they say it takes 60-90 business days, it doesn't seem to take them that long to get it back from the PGR. We don't have as much info yet on the SSP because they only very recently offered to do them for you. Vegreville should give you an extension as soon as you tell them you sent the docs to Mexico. All the requirements are at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/outside-mexico.asp and at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/mexico.asp

In your shoes, unless you have a family member in Mexico City and can easily get the PGR document from the Mexican Embassy I would go with option #2. That way CIC has all the documents and you aren't faced with mailing issues etc close to the deadline.

Ok sounds good
is any diferent if the embassy they do it for me or if I send a family member to get the informe de datos registrales the document is the same or is diferent ?

The document is the same. If you have the Canadian Embassy in Mexico get the certificates for for you, they will also check the police certificates and input the results to your file so you won't need to worry about the translations and Vegreville's familiarity with the PC's.

So, once you send the documents to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico and confirm they receive them, you don't need to worry about the PCs anymore.

The 'best' path depends a lot on your VO and where you are in the process (as well as whether you live in Mexico or not, of course).

You're welcome :)

Note that you need to email the Candian Embassy in Mexico first to explain your situation before you mail them anything for the SSP. It is only in exceptional cases that they process it for you since if you live in Mexico or have direct family there they prefer that you handle it yourself.

For the PGR, just follow the instructions for the document you are getting ... The photos are different for people who live in Mexico who are getting the constancia vs. those who live abroad and are getting the informe. Make sure they are as close up of your face and profile as possible and that you follow all the instructions re no beard, mustache, earrings, hair anywhere on face, etc. The link I gave you earliest has the detailed list of requirements should you have the Embassy process it for you.

Thank you again ohcanadiana

I have more questions once The police certificates are in process ,thats it right! That will be the security background check right! Ot that is diferent

The security and background checks are different - those CSIS and CIC have been doing on the applicant to check the criminal background and employment/association/etc background separately. The police certificates feed into the process but CSIS and CIC do their own checks too.

Thanks

The security background check means the check me in canada and mexico ?

They use several international databases (e.g., Interpol, etc)
