help pls from visitor visa to work permit visa

hello
i was refused a visitor visa when i applied last 2010
but now i got an employer and applying for a work visa
do i need a covering letter stating that i got refused before
cause i dont know if it will affect my application in anyway

Where are you applying from? No need for a cover letter; there are questions on the application form that address the refusal, previous applications etc
