I am from England and my fiancee is Canadian, we are looking to get me my perminant residence. I've lived in Canada for 10 months now and have sent my information to Vegreville AB. We recieved a letter back from them saying we havnt provided enough information as proof that we are a serious couple. \

Me and my fiancee met in England in October 2006 and almost instantly she moved in with me, we lived in my parents house. After a year together in England I came back to Canada with her. During that year in England we never shared any documents such as rental agreements (due to the fact we stayed at my parents), bank accounts (her job paid her cash in hand) or andything else. All we have is letters from highly reputable people in the community (a doctor and police officer). We have plenty of pictures of our time in England together and our various trips across the country.

We cant get any more information, is what I have enough? or will it be declined.

Help Please.

Hello DC,

Can I just ask if you have applied through the sponsored family member route? because if that is what you've applied for then you should have sent your application to Mississuaga, not Alberta! Well, at least thats what I did and what most people did on this forum as well.

How are you staying in Canada at the moment? what kinda visa? And are you living with your fiancee now? If so, are you guys renting or just staying at her place? could you add your names to your utility bills? what about mobile phone bills which prove that you and her have the same address? If you have been living in Canada (with her, if that is the case), plus your year in England, that would give you more than a year living together, which means you have common-law status. If your fiancee received any letters from her friends/family when she was in England, show those (with address of your parents home).

when you say they wrote a letter saying you havent provided enough proof, are they rejecting your application or are they asking for more documents? If you have to reapply as they have rejected it, then get MARRIED - that might help. Or apply again when you've lived in Canada with your fiancee for 1 year.

If you guys don't live together then it will be more tricky as you are not common-law, not spouse, and not really conjugal either?!!

good luck! by the way, we are in England as well applying to get into Canada!
