Hi Guys,

I worked as a Customer Service Rep for 4 years and 9 months and then became a Starbucks Food counter/Barista for 9 months in 2010.

I am currently employed on a re-seller company as a Sales Support Specialist.

I am applying for an FCA position and someone told me that I should get 2 years experience because the Canadian Embassy will just deny me.

Is that true? If I will try to pursue my experience as FCA/Barista will they count the 9 months experience I had prior to that?
So I will just need to gain 1+ year more or should that 2 year experience be continuous?

Also, some employers posting on jobsites, only require months of experience. I guess that can only apply to the locals?
So if do a direct hire application, that would still be denied by the embassy, is that correct?

Thank you in advance for the responses.

Regards,
Spidermark

There are certain reasons a VO will deny an application.
LMO is one of them. If you are far from what the LMO requires then most likely they will deny.
Another and I believe the most important factor is to satisfy the VO that you will leave after your work permit expires.
You need to demonstrate strong ties to your home country.
I hope that helps.

Thank you cee12345!

I think I can show them that I have strong ties with my country.
Do you think I should still pursue applying?
Have you heard or know anyone who got approved even if they lack experience?

I heard of so many applicants with or without experience that got denied or approved.
VOs priority is security (that is you will leave at the end of the term and that you are healthy - some countries they require medicals some dont)
Secondary is your experience compared to what is required based on the Positive LMO.
I suggest you go ahead and apply. Good Luck!

Thanks a lot Cee =)

One last question. If I got denied, what are the consequences?
Will that affect my records so much? How long can I re-apply, once I have fixed the reason for denial.

It will not affect at all.
As long as you can afford the fees and that your LMO is still valid then you can re-apply again (no limit)
