Hello everyone, I'm in a bit of a unique situation with my parent sponsorship application and would appreciate your help.
We submitted our application in September 2024. My mother is the principal applicant and my dad is added as an accompanying spouse.
We submitted and passed biometrics, medicals, police certificates etc. we have recieved two pre-arrival letters.
We just got an email for my dad to submit his military record and schedule A.
The situation for the military record for my dad is a bit complicated. Long story short, we might not be able to provide the requested document on the military record for my dad in a timely manner as there are issues that we have to resolve administratively that could take months or even years.I understand that we could communicate this to IRCC and see what they say.
Another option that we are considering is to remove my dad from the application. My mom is very eager and has strong intention to live in Canada with his Canadian kids and grandkids but my dad is not that much interested in residing in Canada anyways as he is busy with his business.
We are worried that my mom's application will be in jeopardy due to this issue.
My question is, can we remove my dad, who is currently in the application as the accompanying spouse, from my mom's application so that my mom's application can move forward? If so, how can we do this?
