Help please need advice on visa processing time!

I am urgently needing advice on visitor visa processing time!!

I have a cruise scheduled for 8/17, but did not know that there would be a stop in Victoria, so I need to have a visitor visa to board the ship. To those who have applied for a visitor visa recently, how long did it take for you to receive the visa? Considering the strike and other people's complaints on this forum, I'm not so positive that we can receive it before we board.

I will be going to the New York offices. Anyone offer any advice please??

Doubtful but you might give it a try... call the new Visa Application Center in NY, they will be able to give you more info (and they seem to be more helpful than the Consulate itself).
