Hi there, I am a student in Canada, my course is ending 17th April and my visa is valid till 31st July, I am planning to travel back home for two months within this period, the question I want to ask is, is it okay for me to get my work permit, leave the country and come back before 31st July? As I can't apply for my TRV from back home, I talked to a few friends and they told me it is better to apply for the permit after I get back to Canada, but I just thought would they not require a reason from me to re-enter? Am I allowed to re-enter for seeking work in Canada at this point because of covid? And my primary concern is, am I allowed to re-enter with a work permit, but with the student visa or the old TRV which will still be well valid then? THANK YOU!

Hey,

Its always the best idea not to travel / leave the country while any of your file is in progress as it might create some issue for you at the Border as they might ask you to go back and come again when you have the new work permit , Also due to COVID -19 its always best to have all the updated papers with you since it always a possiblity on the bans for travelling from different countries due to which you won't be able to come on time before your TRV expiresa, i will advice you to take a trip when you have your PGWP and new TRV
