Hi,

I submitted my application on September 13, cleared medical on Sep 21, Ip1 started on Sep 27, went to "Not Applicable" on Oct 5. Things were going in really a good speed. Looking forward to IP2.

However, I just found I made a stupid mistake that I didn't read the instructions properly and submitted proof of funds of my bank account where my mom is a joint account holder. CIC clearly says the bank account cannot be a Joint account unless the joint account holder is your accompanying spouse.

Could someone please clarify on the below ?

1. Is there any chance my application will proceed further like CIC comes back asking a letter of explanation or will refuse the application all together ?

2. I do not want to wait more if CIC certainly going to reject my application. In that case, can I withdraw my application myself ? I dont see any option to withdraw. Will the money paid for fee be refund If I withdrew ?

3. My CRS score is 466. I guess I'll still stand a chance for next invite If I reapply ? Is there any restriction to reapply ?

I would need someone's advice what would be the correct course action I should take.

Thanks a lot,
Kanmani

Thanks a lot for swift reply. By any chance are you aware of anyone who had gone through a similar case but still went through successfully ?

Also could you advice the best course of action here ? Should I wait for CIC to get back on this or should I withdraw and reapply ? Also any idea about the refund ?

I would have to check hundreds of my private messages to find that applicant, I simply do not have the time do to that.

Regarding refund: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=613&top=4

IMO and considering how fast your application is being processed I would risk it and not withdraw it. Still do your research and try to find other threads in this forum from other applicants who shared the same experience.

How about raising a CSE with an updated proof of fund with a bank account under your name along with a gift deed from your mother and an LOE? Maybe you can try instead of just waiting for them to decide. You can be luck and they add the updated letter.
BTW, I am aware of some cases here in the forum who had issues with the PoF but received Procedural Fairness letter without getting directly rejected.
Great. Thank you !!

I have seen cases where people have attached an affidavit saying that they they authorize the applicant to use all the funds and they will consider it as a gift gesture and will not ask them to pay the money back.
