Hello everyone,
I have a somewhat complicated situation and would greatly appreciate your advice. I recently lost my passport while in Canada and reported it to the police. I then returned to my home country using an entry certificate and applied for a new passport. However, after my old passport was officially canceled by the local representative office, I unexpectedly found it again.
My work visa for Canada is in my old passport, and it is still valid. I understand that in some cases, it's possible to travel to Canada using a valid visa in a canceled passport if I also carry my new passport. That being said, I am worried about complications at the border since my old passport was previously reported as lost, even though it is still within its validity period.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? Is it advisable to explain this situation at the border, or would you recommend reapplying for a new visa to avoid potential issues?
Any guidance or experience would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
