Hi,

Today I received my TRV rejection letter and passport.

On Thurday, July 5th 2012, my application was submitted to VFS mumbai.
And it was processed in Delhi.

The reasons for Rejection were as following:

1. Your Family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
2. Your Personal Assets and Financial status

For the first point:

I am single, 32 years old and I have Parents and a brother who all stay in india.
I was planing to visit canada for a family friends Son's wedding.

For secon Point:

I provided my 6 months bank statement ( around 1.7 Lacks ( $3000 CAD) in balance)
, Payslips for 3 months, and last 2 years tax returns.

As the application check list did not ask for any property details i did not provide my property details.
I own 2 Flats (1 in Mumbai and 1 in Pune with tatal market price of 80 Lakhs (around 1,50,000 CAD)

So can you please suggest if i want to re aplly, will these details help? also what about first point?

how i should prove my ties with india ?

Please provide your valuabl;e feedbacks

Your biggest point is "single", and the age. If you had good travel history, assets, some more bank balance then it could have been better

Proof of CURRENT employment. You have included 3 months of payslips, but have not indicated whether these are your most recent slips and if your employment is ongoing. Can you get a letter from your employer explaining your employment and that you have been approved leave and are expected back on a certain date? Have you traveled to other countries? A positive travel history not only shows that you have gone away and returned home, but that you can afford to travel which is a further measure of your establishment in your home country with a good job. Good Luck.

yes, I have a current ongoing job and the payslips i have submitted are last 3 months .
I have a letter from HR stating my position/and duration of leave sanctioned which i submitted with my application.

I have reasonable travel history with 2 UK business visas (1 is still valid), schengen ,Thailand, Malaysia, indonesia visas.

Do you guys think that one has to show more bank balance just for a 2 weeks travel expenses?
I mean who on earth keeps that much cash in bank account?

OK....so you have more assets than you submitted - you just sent bank account, but you have other things IN YOUR NAME? If you want to give it another shot, be sure to write a strong cover letter. Explain what assets you have in addition to bank account (explain that you were unaware that it was necessary to provide this level of detail), describe your travel history and identify visas in PP, describe your career, how long you have worked there and that your boss has approved your vacation time, attach his letter, describe your family, whether or not you live at home with them, DEFINITELY include property ownership documents. Include everything you did in your first application, plus anything additional you can think of that strengthens your ties to home. I have heard that some people apply and get a different decision the next time. Explain why you want to go to Canada for the marriage of a friend's son. Be sure they know it is NOT a member of YOUR family. All the best.

Thanks Pippin,

Yes I have started working on the Cover letter which will explain my properties, stable job, my travel history.

Also i will attach one page summery of financial documents i will be submitting.

I was thinking to attach revised letter from my host based on current rejection.

Do you think any recommendation letters can be helpful?

awaiting response

1) Emphasize any travel, especially personal travel. It carries more weight than travel for work purposes as they want to see that you are financially established enough to afford travel. 2) Emphasize that the wedding is that of a family friend and provide a copy of the wedding invitation. Describe how you both met and why it is important to be at the wedding. 3) The revised invitation letter could state how you met and why it is important to him for you to be there. 4) The really BIG thing is to prove your ties to your home country.

Thanks Pippin for your valuable suggestions..

I have re-submitted my application.

I have now attached a Cover letter which explains the reason why I did not provide the property details during first application.

Also I have now attached my property details, and another letter from my host.

Hope this will satisfy the Visa Officer :)

Hi Pippin,

Today I got my Passport back from CHC delhi..and it has valid Visa :)

It is a great relief.

Thank you so much for all your suggestions.

Following list of documents may help other applicants.

For second time application:

1. attahced my 2 bank statments for 6 montths with funds around 5K CAD.
2. Property Documents
3. Employment letters, Leave sanction letter, latest 3 months Payslips.
Current performance appraisal letter.
4. Letter from my host and host income details.
Also attached wedding invitation

Another letter from host which shows surprise about my Visa rejection.

5. A Cover letter which explained all details about my propery, bank acounts, Job details, previous travel History
6. A letter from friend (a diplomate) mentioning my stability in India. (I guess a letter from someone at a important position and who knows personally applicant might add value to application...but not sure if it will work in favour in all cases!)

With all these documents I submitted application on friday and today being wedneday I got my Passport within 4 working days.

Thank you again for your support and suggstions.

Thank you cxraasi,

No they did not call me. But I guess it was not a problems as I knew what details I provided them. Also both times I provided them genuine information..only first time I was not sure if It was good idea to provide property details as they did not ask for it...but I guess I was wrong,

So second time I made a point to write a cover letter which explained my first application and also brief summery of all the proofs I submitted.

Also added additional documents just to make sure that they see what they want to see in my application.

Many posts and comments on my post helped me a lot to be more open about my second application.

:)
