help needed related to SPP visa- backlogs, Gaps and study mis-match.

Hi all,
I have 65% or more in all exams. IELTS 6.5 . applying for Jan 2012.
I have got admisn in Georgian college for "Research Analyst Program"(PG 1 yearcourse).(subject related to Market research and analytics.)

I have completed Engg in IT (with quite a few backlogs) and and then PG program in management (2year course)(with 1 backlog).

I have 2 + years of work exp, my work is more a technical job, some thing like a programming job with SAS software which is also a market research software.(but not working on market research with SAS).

I had subjects related to market research in my PG course.
I selected this course as i have keen interest in MR and Analytics and Quantative research. I guess My experience in SAS sofware will help me with my Career in MR.

Now my question are,
1. which marks will the VO officer consider? my Latest PG course with only 1 Backlog. or my Engg Degree with many backlogs.
will my Engg backlogs affect my Visa approval?

2. Will i get a rejection stating that i have a study mismatch?

3. I have gaps here and there - : after Engg (5-6 months), after PGcourse(5months), during job change (3months).
can i show my gaps sating that i was preparing of my PG course, and then i did some SAS course and got certification after pg course, can i show I was preparing for that certification.?

4. Is there anyone who have got visa with Gaps applying through SPP in education.and or with a different study field.?

Hi,


1. Your qualification is considered more in a sequence. Academic grades matters a lot!

2. There is NOTHING like study mismatch. Read a sample refusal letter and see where it’s written as a study mismatch. There is a common assumption that ‘Study Mismatch’ is a top reason for visa refusal, I must say it’s absolutely wrong. You can go for any course with good academics and profile. It’s your overall profile which holds too much weightage.

3. No need to worry for gaps. All you have to fill up one ‘Student Questionnaire Form’ where you state your recent year’s activities like education work, etc. You do not need to attach ‘any proof’ to justify your work/gaps. For SAS, I am not sure if you hold Base or Advanced Certification, you can use SAS training/exams to fill up your gaps.

I have few more work with my Bank loan process..
I would possibly be applying for a visa (SPP) by the 3rd week of November..
Hope I am not late.
college starts on 2nd Jan' 2012.

Whatever Enfield told is 100% true. Last date of applying for the VISA is 1st Dec, any time before that is not late. Only thing is towards November end application rush increases with the embassy so VISA processing takes a little more time (usually around 25-30 days as per what I have read on this forum, but most of it depends upon various factors and luck being one of them) thats it.

Yes!! I realized that as well.
But hope i get the Visa even if its 25 days and before my college starts..!!
I guess the flight prices would have shot up to the sky by the time i book them ???

It's not 25 days but only around 17 working day of CHC Delhi. (excluding saturday & sunday).
