Help needed regarding work permit

Hello every body...

I have one query please if any body knows help me:

I have applied for the TRV for six months research studies at university at canada (as partial research work of Ph.D) Higher education commission will provided me the expenses. I have got medical call but CHC has also required following two certificates from me:

1. "Work Permit Application"
2. "Processing fee for work"

I want to know that CHC has also asked me to submit these but as I am going only for the research studies of 6 months, i donot have any intentions to live there and also i donot have any plan to work/ do job there except research as funded by HEC so what should i write to them in cover letter regarding these two requirements of CHC?

The fee for the 6 months studies (US$ 3500) will be provided by HEC to the university directly.

what should be written in covering letter? Please let me know so that I may return my passport to the CHC.

If they are asking for work permit application then there must be some work you need to do which is regarded as off campus work, and this work would be the part of ur research. I think you must provide them what they are asking.

Hi,
The TRV is only to enter Canada since you are from non-visa-exempt country. So, whether you're a tourist or going to do research, you need TRV.

However, to do your research work you need a working permit. You can go to the cic.gc.ca website for this.
And I think what they mean by fee is the application fee for this permit, not the fee for your work.
