Dear friends,

I am from India and have been practicing physiotherapy ( in India) for the last 12 years.I hold a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy . Recently an immigration company based here offered me PR visa assistance with a Job...I was a bit confused, as I know that it might be a tough process for me to immigrate and get a job. I asked them whether I would need a licensure exam..To which they said, that initially they will be helping me get a physiotherapy assistant job, that I could work with upto 3 employers, for which they said NO licensure examination is required..And once I settle in I can give my licensure exam and enter main stream.

Can someone guide me on the entire process ( in layman terms). I shall be deeply obliged

Thanking you
Regards
Sundar

The internet is a wonderful thing. Search out whatever association or regulating body governs physiotherapists in Canada and see what needs to be done to get your credentials recognized. Then find out what is required for you to work as a physiotherapy assistant in Canada. That will answer your questions about your ability to work and in what capacity if you get to Canada.

Secondly, check this agent and ensure they are regulated. Look at the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants website. If they are claiming to be immigration consultants, they need to be listed as members in good standing there.

Third, in order to find out if the job is real, use your common sense. No employer should hire you for a skilled position without interviewing you first and reviewing your credentials and experience. Ask the agent when you will be interviewed by the employer. If they say there is no interview, then you might want to reconsider using this agent. Chances are it is a scam.
