Help needed for starting my application process

Hi,

I want to start my process for Canadian PR. I am an IT Consultant with 10 years of experience as Oracle apps DBA.Presently in US.

Can any one of you point me to a link or an individual attorney who can help me start my case? It makes me feel comfortable as you already had your cases processed thru them.

you should read through www.cic.gc.ca and looking at the immigration option as a start.
If you find the steps to immigrate are easy, you can do it yourself. If you think it might overwhelming or yours is a special case, then you should go through a consultant. I don't know any consultant's name.

Though my Job Title is "programmer Analyst" i actually work as Oracle Database Administer.

My job duties EXACTLY matches to 2172, Do i qualify for FSW?


My job duties are mentioned under "Classified elsewhere" section under 0213 on at http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=0&val1=0213. But i don't do much under 0213, i do only a few.

The main reason for going for some consultants is basically for this confusion i have. Do you have any idea about that i mentioned above? My job duties COMPLETELY match with 2172.

2172 doesn't qualify for FSW category 1 requirements. It has to be a job in the ministerial list and 0213 is in the ministerial list. If you are not managing people, then you are not in 0213 (thats my understanding anyway). I am no expert so you should wait for someone else to reply.

If you cannot apply under 0213 then try look for a job in canada first, or go study in canada or look at PNP immigration. www.cic.gc.ca

I think rupeshhari is right. I doubt you would qualify. NOC 0213 applies only to those with responsibilties for system design. This would normally include managing budget and people. In my experiance an Oracle DBA wouldn't have this.

It would be far more productive to look at the alternative routes to Canadian PR.
