Dear all,
This is amazing forums!!! My wife is applying for my PR. By this weekend my application will reach missisauga. The problem is, after submitting the application, my wife has to come to my place for a month or 45 days. So she will not be available in Canada for this period. I want to know if CPC-M always makes a telephone inquiry to sonsor or only in some cases? Also please let me know that if CPC-M inquires about her and if she is not there is it ok if she contacts CPC-M when she returns back to canada??
Thanks folks for the reply in advance.

The only thing your wife will get is an approval or refusal letter once the first stage is complete. They won't be calling on her for anything :) There is no problem for her to go for a vacation as long as she does return during the process if she is a PR. If she is a citizen she can be with you the whole time if she wanted :) The only thing that would be good is having someone check her mail. I think the process is taking a little longer these days due to the volume of applications so she might even get the letter when she returns. You can also check the status of your application after about 3 weeks or more in the ECAS system with the receipt number of the fees paid online.

I haven't heard any sponsors being called at the first stage. Some visa offices call the sponsor during an interview of the applicant. I'm not sure about inland applications but really this is a rarity and perhaps a long time ago they were more into calling who knows? Your wife will have no problems travelling to see you. I myself am a citizen living abroad and I haven't been contacted about anything other then to tell me that I was approved by letter. Hope that helps!

It happens if the sponsor is a PR not a Citizen, that Mississauga will check that the sponsor is still residing in Canada.

Every single case? I didn't know that.. I thought only if they had good reason to suspect they are not residing in Canada would they call.. good to know :)
