Myself and my wife are in India right now. I am planning to travel to Canada in a short time and wish to sponsor her under the family class. I was not married to her when I got my PR card hence me having to do this. Which is the best way to tacle this problem and how long will the processing take?

Go to Canada and submit the outland application to sponsor your wife. The top post on this thread explains everything.
However, when you say you have a PR card, you do mean that you went to Canada with a PR visa and officially 'landed' in Canada, right? If all you have is the PR visa, and have not gone to Canada and used it yet, the procedure is different.

Yes I landed in Canada, finished my landing formalities and returned home. I had the card mailed to one of my friends address in Canada and he delivered it to me on his next visit to India. How long will the process take to sponsor my wife.

Looking at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp#asia you see that 80% of cases in New Delhi have been processed within 6 months.
