I got a refusal letter a few days ago (visitor visa extension). I was asking for more time because I am waiting for my Humanitarian and Compassionate ground application submitted earlier this year.
What do I have to do? Should I apply for restoration as it is passed my expiration date? Should I reapply extension?
This is approximately what's said in the letter:
Consideration factors including the applicant's
1. Probability to leave Canada at the end of authorized stay.
2. Ties to country of permanent residence, including:
- employment and study commitments;
- family ties and responsibilities;
- status (citizenship or immigration status);
3. Reason for original entry and reason for requested extension;
4. Financial means for the extended stay and return home;
5. Travel and identity documents;
I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations.
You must leave Canada on or before the expiry of your current document or, if your
document has already expired you must leave Canada immediately. Failure to do so
could result in enforcement action being taken against you.
Should I contact a lawyer? If I leave my HnC application will be automatically gone. Please help anyone, I am very desperate and so confused.
I can support my self while I am here with the help of my friends here, I work for a non canadian company remotely for 3 years now. I have been here for 7 years with my now ex husband with visitor visa because I couldn't afford to apply for PR back then.
