 My passport will expire this December so the Student Visa and Study Permit are going to expire too.

However, I already applied for new extension of Study Permit on CIC website.

Will I also receive new Student Visa with my Study Permit through mail ? Or I have to apply for S.Visa separately ?

Please help ! I'm gonna go home this Dec :-\

P.S: If I have to apply my Visa separately, please give me some instructions or links to topics with familiar case with me ! Thanks a lot

1. You need to extend you passport first, as you won't get either a study permit nor TRV past the expiry date of your passport.
2. You apply to Vegreville for a study permit extension and you can apply by mail to one of the Canadian offices in the US for a new TRV. See: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/imm/visa_temp.aspx?lang=eng

You must provide proof of lawful temporary status in Canada.

If you are in Canada with a study permit and need to apply for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA to travel abroad, please provide:

* A photocopy of your current permit and
* Originals of your most recent transcript and
* Proof of current enrollment

Thx a bunch PMM

Based on what I see for the required document, I do not see if I have to submit my passport thru mail or not ?

So, I only need these 3 things to send to US counselors . It is a bit confused because the document "check list" also states that I have to submit my passport and financial proof.

Please explain to me which papers I have to send them.

you need to submit the 3 documents with your passport and financial proof ,,because how they will print you the TRV without having your passport ... that's make it logic and maybe PMM know more

Yeah that makes sense ! 8)

About Financial Proof : If I live with my Step-Father (who is Canadian) .. Do I have to provide strong proof ... I meant I do not need to have a lot of money since he gives me all the supports.

For what I did when I applied for Study permit: I sent my bank statement with 1800 CAD in it, and a letter from my dad about his support (also his employer's letter of confirmation). <<<< Should I do the same for my Visa ?

Thank you !
