Hi everyone, I have some questions regarding visa application for minor(15 years old). I will be his custodian in Canada. He will be visiting Canada alone for a summer camp program for 2 weeks. The school has already sent invitation letter. Since he is not studying in Canada, I should apply for visitor visa right? To apply online for his visitor visa you need to register a mycic id, but the applicant must be over 16 years old.

1. Can his parents use their mycic id and submit the online application for him?
2. what content should be in the "letter of authorization" required for landing? just names and address of parents and custodian?

Thank you

Why can't he apply by himself?
Because he is under 16, at the end you still need mycic ID to finish the application. mycic ID can only be registered by people over 16.

Did you find an answer to this?

I am in a similar situation -- I am the custodian for a 15 year old coming to Canada. If his parents create a MyCIC account, can they apply for his study permit online?

I asked a consultant and he told me the best way is to mail the paper application for the child. There is no proof that applying using parents' mycic id won't work but I guess nobody want to take the risk of being rejected and try it out.
