I guess u can apply as a skilled worker.. as a cook.. am i right?

Note: You must meet the following minimum requirements to apply as a skilled worker:

You have at least one continuous year of full-time, paid work experience or the equivalent in part-time continuous employment.
Your work experience must be Skill Type 0 (managerial occupations) or Skill Level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).
You must have had this experience within the last 10 years.

Skilled workers are people who can become permanent residents because they are able to become economically established in Canada.

Your application to come to Canada as a skilled worker will be assessed on six selection factors and a point system. The six selection factors are:

your education
your abilities in English and/or French, Canada’s two official languages
your experience
your age
whether you have arranged employment in Canada
your adaptability.
You must also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada, and pass a medical examination and security and criminal checks.

The amount of money you need to support your family is determined by the size of your family. These amounts are updated every year.

Number of Family Members Funds Required (in Canadian dollars)

1 (family member) ---> $10,601
2 (family members) ---> $13,198
3 (family members) ---> $16,225
4 (family members) ---> $19,700
5 (family members) ---> $22,343
6 (family members) ---> $25,199
7 (family members) ---> or more $28,055

These funds could be in the form of:

cash
securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

*You do not have to show that you have these funds if you have arranged employment in Canada.*

You could also take this test too see if you meet the requiments of a skilled worker:

Hope this helps...
