hi folks,

I study in University of Calgary and my parents want to travel from Delhi to Calgary.
They are traveling first time and can't speak good English.
Is anyone coming from New Delhi to Canada in April or May ?

I will book the tickets in same flight if anyone is coming from there.
In fact, I can pick them from Toronto or Ottawa airport.

I appreciate if someone can help me. :)

Best regards,
Rashmi Shah

I have applied visa for my mom. If she gets visa she will be coming in May (Keeping my fingers crossed.) But anyhow here is my advice to you: -

1) Book tickets with Wheel chair option for both parents even if they both can run marathons.
2) Write a letter explaining to the immigration officer that your parents can't speak english and you are attaching their return ticket, insurance details and your contact information in case they want to speak to you. (this works as I have friends who were called by Immigratioin for the same reason).
3) Fill up a sample immigration form (u can find on internet, or i can send you a link if you need) so that they can refer it and fill it on the flight and also there will be more people who can help your parents for that.
4) Give print outs of all the invitation letter you sent initially.
5) Give them important words in English written in Hindi in case they need to ask for water, juice, help, call etc.
6) Give them a cell phone with roaming on. This would help in conncection flights and will also help in decreasing yoru anxiety when they travel.

Hope this helps. Have got my mother in law (who doesn't even know hindi) to Winnipeg using the above pointers.

Regards and good wishes.
