Hello all

I met I girl online for the last 1 year, and would like to marry her and have kids with her.

I would like to know how I go about getting her to come to canada and have her have the right to work. Then eventually have a child with her having her own Canadian health coverage.

what steps should I take?

should I have her come her and get married to her? or go there?

I would love to have her stay here through the whole process of her becoming a canadian citizen, having a child and getting married.

thanks for any guidance you can give I 'm also on odsp disability
.

Probably the best starting point is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

sponsorship program for family sponsorship looks like i'm trying to be eligible for.

so in order to do it i must be married to her here in canada or do i have to be married in the phillipines too?

is there another visa that will allow her to be with me through this process?

You would be OK being legally married in either country. She could apply for a visitor visa or attempt to get a temporary foreign worker visa, based on a work permit. Both of these are not likely to be easy. Maybe if you provided more information about the situation it might help us come up with suggestions.

There is no visa for girlfriends. You only have to get married in one country.

You could also sponsor her if you live with her for 12 months first but you would have to support her because she would not be allowed to work and she would need insurance because she would not have health care so it's faster if you get married.

work visa: will she need a skilled trade or a letter from a employer willing to hire her?

when she comes down to canada in dec, should she be on a visitor visa, and can we do that paper work now?then when we get married right away in canada in dec i can sponsor her through the canadian resident.

will we have time to do this when she's on a visitor visa?

what paper work will she need done before she arrives like her medical or criminal back ground check

It's a bad idea to marry right away or to get married on her first trip to visit you. When you apply to sponsor her, CIC will be looking to ensure this is a real relationship and not a marriage of convenience. When you marry quickly or marry on the first visit where you meet each other in person, this is a big red flag to CIC that the relationship may not be genuine and this means that it will quite likely take much longer for your application to be processed and there's even a possibility of refusal. You should visit each other a few times before getting married. Don't get married during your first trip/visit together.

How long she is allowed into Canada for will be up to the visa officer she speaks to when she arrives in Canada. So it's impossible to say how long she will be allowed to visit. It is also impossible for us to say if she will be approved for an extension. There are no rules with regards to how many extensions she can apply for.

To obtain a work permit, she will first have to find an employer who is willing to offer her a full time job. That employer will then have to advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. Then the employer will have to submit an application to request approval to hire her. The processing time for this application is usually around 2-4 months and the cost is $1,000 in fees which the employer must pay. If this application is approved - she can then apply for a work permit. It tends to be difficult to find employers who are willing to go through this process because it takes so much time and costs money.

She can get a sin once she has a work permit.

Thanks for the responses.

I would like her to come down for 6 months, on a tourist visa. She'll be staying with me at my apartment.my question is, when she arrives, they want her to prove she has money to stay for this period of time. How much money will she need on her person to enter canada?

and

she's from the phillipines and will be flying out o there in dec, will she have to get her criminal and medical done there? or can she get it done where she works now hong kong?

Did she apply for her visitor visa yet? Keep in mind that she may get denied. She needs to show that she has funds for her stay as well as that she will not overstay in Canada. If she doesn't have enough funds, immigration will be suspicious she might want to work illegally.

WHAT CAN I DO Urgent reply please

I have been refused Canada visa and the reason for the refusal was that !

1. Purpose of travel is not justified....(meaning i didn't state what i went to do in those countries that i have traveled to...concerns on purpose of travel

2. Appear to have limited economic and social tie to home country as well as no previous significant travel history. Please i will like to know what are the likely documents i have to provide as an evidence of tie to my country.
Am married with kids, have landed properties,i have traveled to euro,Middle East

thanks anticipation of your reply
