Help me find NOC

Hi everyone,



my current job title is Press helper and duties are listed below.

• Rotate between presses to assist press operators.
• Review the planning schedule to determine priority production of jobs.
• Review the docket for required components and ensure correct cylinders and plates are selected.
• Assist with mounting plates on to cylinders and cut sticky back for cylinder
• Assist with installing cylinders and other components into the press.
• Assist with removing components from the press at the completion of each job
• Clean up the press and components and return material etc. to storage.
• Remove all plates with care and place in plate washer.
• Check washed plates for defects before placing into the plate bag and folder
• Verify all plates from the job are accounted for, cleaned and returned to plate the bag with the finished rolls
• Cleaning work station area and emptying garbage container
• Other duties as requested

my question is that can I go for NOC 7381 which hase following duties according to NOC website.

• Review job orders to determine job specifications such as production time, colour sequence and quantities required, and advise press crew of these specifications
• Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments
• Fill ink fountains and take measurements, make adjustments and determine settings to control colour and viscosity
• Set up press and check samples for ink coverage, alignment and registration
• Monitor regular press runs for quality and consistency using computer control console and make adjustments as required
• Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run
• Direct activities of press crew and ensure that safety procedures are adhered to.

I am confused because my title matches with other NOC.

Job Title does not matter. What really matters is the JOB DUTIES & LEAD STATEMENT. so ignore the job title and find the matching job duties. A minimum of 70-80% match is required I suppose.

There is a list of index of titles (example titles) that's provided under each NOC

I repeat it's the Main duties and the Lead statement that you should be focusing.

For example , The lead statement for the NOC 7381 you saw is - "Printing press operators set up and operate sheet and web-fed presses to print text, illustrations and designs on a wide variety of materials such as paper, plastic, glass, leather and metal. They are employed by commercial printing companies; newspapers, magazines, and other publishing companies; and establishments in the public and private sectors that have in-house printing departments"

I couldn't find any other NOC code related to PRINTING PRESS OPERATOR other than NOC 7381
