Hi Everyone,

I've been working in an Real Estate Company as Deal Secretary for about half year. I plan to use NOC code 1241 or 1242 for my future application. However, I submitted my Temporary Resident Visa application on Aug 26th, the job title on employment letter that my boss wrote was TRADE ADMINISTRATOR, more like 1221. Since I saw a couple of rejected applicants used 1221 for application, I'm afraid I might ...as well. Will the Visa application effect my future CEC application?

Can I withdraw my Visa application, and ask my boss to rewrite a employment letter for me, then re-apply the re-entry visa? But I do not know will CIC has any record about this application and withdraw.

I'm so worried. Pls HELP! Thank you very much for all of you guys.

I don't think they were rejected because of the NOC. More likely, they used the wrong NOC or did not provide all the information requested by CIC on the reference letter. Perhaps, you should focus more on getting a proper reference letter for your PR application. If your main duties and responsibilities are consistent with NOC 1221, you shouldn't have problems.

Why withdraw the entire application if the letter is the only document you have an issue with? How about submitting a new letter instead? In my humble opinion, I don't think withdrawing the application means there is no record.

Thank you very much for you reply. the problem here is I do not want to use 1221 in my future CEC application, since my job duties do not match with 1221, but more like 1242. As your advise, should i resend a new employment letter to CIC Visa office and explain why I do so?

It's up to you what you want to do. You can withdraw the application or correct the reference letter, either way, I believe there will be a record of this application.

Can you clarify which "temporary resident visa" application you're talking about? Do you mean a temporary work permit? If you receive a work permit for NOC 1221, then that is the only job you are authorized to perform.

Since I saw a couple of rejected applicants used 1221 for application, I'm afraid I might ...as well. Will the Visa application effect my future CEC application?

CIC will know of the previous application under 1221. But since both NOCs are administrative in nature and at the same level, the "precision" of the NOC will not be too much of an issue.

The problem with 1221/1241/1424 is that there are similar occupations classified as skill level C (e.g. office clerks). So you will have to clearly understand the difference between those NOCs and make sure your employer's letter of reference reflects the duties associated with a "skilled" NOC.

Hi Everyone,

I faxed a withdrawal letter to CIC on last Monday, and the next day I received my Passport. CIC gave me a temporary residence visa expire date same as my PGWP, which means they've already have record of the previous employment letter that I submitted.

However, there's a problem with my that employment letter. It does not say anything regarding my duties. Only states my job title, and I am a full time permanent employee in this company since when. Also, the title that my boss wrote "TRADE ADMINISTRATOR" is not exist in Noc. How can I correct my title when the time I apply CEC.

Thank you very much!

You were given a TRV, so calm down. :- X . Not all job titles are on the NOC list - you have to find a NOC code that is consistent(closely matches) with your main duties and responsibilities.
It's not possible to "correct" the letter now, so you can use the "trade administrator" title again when you apply under CEC or have your employer change it to "deal secretary" and hope for the best.

By the way, I just searched "deal secretary" on workingincanada.gc.ca and all secretary jobs are NOC 1414 which is skill level C. So as much as you prefer this title, you just may be jumping from frypan to fire.

In the future, read your employment letter thoroughly before you submit it with an application.

Bella,

1241 would be the NOC code that I should choose, and there are several example titles are different types of secretaries. As the knowledge I gained here, most people say CIC officers will mainly focus on job duties but not job titles.
