Are you from Pakistan?

Firstly, people get approved without showing IELTS however a good score in IELTS will definitely help your case. IELTS is not compulsory for applicants in Pakistan though it is for the spp candidates from India.

Secondly, though some applicants get approved without showing IELTS, there are many who get refused for not showing it even if the University has waived it. I was refused for the same reason in my first attempt so i gave the IELTS and got an 8 band overall and reapplied and was approved. So my advice would be to reappear for the IELTS as it would make your case strong. Yes you can get lucky you do not show if you are from Pakistan but better be safe than sorry.

The rule of thumb is to get a minimum overall band of 6 with no band less than 5.5 for bachelors and a minimum of 6.5 for Masters with no band less than 6 however i have rarely seen people getting approved with a 5.5 in any individual band so aim high so that it can help your case.

Bhai i have already given my suggestion on my reply above. Like i said above it is a risk to apply without IELTs. You may get away with it like some friends of mine but you may get refused for not submitting it like i was even though i submitted a language proficiency waiver from my school too. So it is a risk and i advise you to give IELTS again and get a good score. 5.5 score is highly looked down upon by VO.

Rest is upto you if you want to take the risk and apply without submitting it or retaking it.

I like said before, its advisable you apply with both your IELTS and Waiver letter, the IELTS will be as a supporting documents since you got your admission from the uni with a waiver letter, and ensure to state this in your SOP about the waiver letter

even though your IELTS isn't that good with R5.5 I think you can still apply along with your waiver but if you feel you can do better getting a more high IELTS score, then take the exam again as it would improve your chances
