HELP!! I might have confused a letter requested additional documents with PPR

Hi Everyone,

I received the following 'Request Letter' on Sept 2nd, and accordingly the next day, I sent my original passport and other documents via the local VFS office:

Your application has reached the final stage of processing. You must now complete the following actions within 30 days of the date of this correspondence so that your permanent resident visa(s) can be issued.
1. Submit the documents listed below to our office in Abu Dhabi (not to our London office), according to the instructions in Appendix C. All documents for you and your accompanying family members must be submitted together in one package.
a. Your passport and a passport for each accompanying family member. (Do not submit passports for accompanying family members who are entitled to Canadian citizenship because they will have to travel on their Canadian passports.)
b. The Updated Information Chart in Appendix A fully completed for you and each accompanying family member.
c. Two recent photographs of yourself and two recent photographs of each of your accompanying family members. The photos must meet the Photo Specifications as detailed in Appendix B.
d. Please also include a copy of this correspondence with your submission.

However, MyCIC status is as per the below:

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Passed
Review of submitted documents we need an additional document from the applicant
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
A final decision has been reached Not Started

I am very worried due to the status in relation to needing an additional document from me! In fact, I've just found that there's space for passport upload in my document checklist! Was I supposed to upload a copy of the passport to MyCIC as well as send the original? The 'Request Letter' mentioned nothing about that! and now my passport is, according to VFS tracker, at Canada Visa Office in Abu Dhabi!! I only have a scan of the first page of my passport so I cannot upload only that to MyCIC.

Any Advice?

It clearly states that you need to upload a document at MyCIC account. When is the last date of submission that is mentioned on the Request letter?

October 2nd and the letter clearly stated that I should send the passport via either courier or VFS

If the letter mentioned that you need to send the physical Passport then you should not worry at all.

Do you have soft copies of documents that are needed to be uploaded?

I only have a soft copy of my passport bio page and photos. I don't have a soft copy of all the pages with markings/visa stamps.

You still have more than 3 weeks to submit the docs. I think raising a CSE would be the best option from here. Have you written/called them yet?

Looks like software glitch don't worry. You sent the letter also and if VFS accepted your application then you are fine. I am 100% confident that nothing odd will happen.
You will reply in few days that everything is alright.

Thank you caththisking. I really hope so! I worked so hard on the application and even received a 2nd AOR before receiving this request letter, so I'm surprised that they need a soft copy of my passport, particularly because the letter mentioned nothing about that.

Yes, they send Request letter for the documents to be uploaded at MyCIC, that's their normal way to communicate.

Thanks for the confirmation. I didn't receive any letter requesting upload to mycic. Only a 'request letter' to either courier or submit the passport to their office in Abu Dhabi. This is why I'm so confused. The request came after I received a 2nd AOR stating the my application has passed a completeness check!

I agree with Caththisking that the notice in MyCIC is a glitch, or that it refers to something else. The letter you got is definitely PPR, and when you get PPR you do not upload anything on MyCIC, but send it through the mail to the VO they tell you to. Does your ECAS refer to any request for additional information? If so, what date was it sent? Were you ever asked for additional documents like RCMP, Schedule A, etc?

I think you can totally relax. You got the PPR letter and that is the crucial thing. Congratulations!

Hi dobes, thanks for your post! I really hope that I did the right thing!

Even ECAS status is confusing! ECAS is currently 'Decision Made' but we I click on that I cannot see a medicals line and there's a line saying 'we sent you a correspondence on Sept 2nd, please provide the required documents...etc'
Sept 2nd is the date I received the PPR and I haven't received any other request letters throughout the whole process!
