Help! How Do I Extend My Study Permit For Just A Few Months?

My study permit expires right before the end of my semester. I'm talking just a few days. I just want to extend the permit barely by 3 months or more (extra time for applying for graduation).

Most of the articles I've seen online assume that a student wanting to extend it wants to extend by 1 year. And so they say that you need to have $10,000 in your bank when applying for the extension to show that you have funds.

But in a case like this, do I really need to have $10,000 in my bank account? What is the minimum amount of time they can let you extend the permit by? And how much money do you need in your account?

Also my visa expires on the same day as my study permit. So what's the best path I can take to resolve that? Do I apply for the study permit extension and then once that is processed only then can I apply for the visa extension? Or do I first apply for the visa extension?

I don't get it. Why do you want to extend your permit, to finish your current studies or to study in another one? Keep in mind that you must apply for an extension at least 30 days before your status expires.

Because my permit expires just a few days before the semester ends, and by law I'm not supposed to study even 1 day after the permit expires. My semester carries on for another week after my permit expiration date, so shouldn't I extend it? Also shouldn't I extend it if I want to apply for graduation? Graduation occurs around 2 months after the semester end date.

Your study permit should be valid until the end of your program, why are you needing an extension now? Yes you can ask for an extension for only a couple of months, but you are going to need to justify that in your application, that's why I'm asking, and I don't think that attending a graduation qualify as studying, so you should probably apply for a TRV instead. Although if you apply for a TRV, you will not be able to finish your studies. You'll probably have to apply for an extension of your study permit for just a few days.
The problem is your program taking longer to complete than what is on your study permit, how did that happened?

Yeah when I looked at my original letter of acceptance, I now see that the expected completion date was last semester lol. I forgot that they put an estimated completion date on the letter. On my program's page, it says that the program can take 2 years or longer. I went beyond the estimated completion date.

That was a very tight date though. In order to complete it by then, the courseload would have been very heavy, and my program is difficult enough as it is.

How does the extension work? As in, can you specify the number of months? I watched a video of it, and it seems like the minimum you can extend it is 6 months?

Do you need to have funds in your account when applying for the extension? This is my main worry.

Yeah I've heard of the 30 day rule. But is that enough time to also apply for the TRV? Because I heard they are 2 separate applications.
