Hi. I just secured my 3 yrs work permit and I do not want to waste more time in Toronto. The competition is usually very high. Most jobs are for junior developers. I think my experience is below that and that explains why I'm never successful at the interviews. I have my background in the following:

1. Ms sql server 2008
2. Asp.net MVC 5
3. ASP.NET web API
4. Jquery
5. Bootstrap
6. Microsoft TFS

I did few school projects with the above. My greatest challenge is the projects I have executed. I think the interviewer are not satisfied with the few projects I have done.
I therefore need a less competitive place to search for job. I have decided to pick up some personal projects to keep myself busy.
Please help me with good suggestions.

I am not competitive at all but I am not afraid of competition. Looks like you are afraid of competition... so I wouldn't recommend IT at all.

There is nothing less than junior level, and for new grads usually we care about your grades, your disposal to be competitive and your talent. Projects really are not important (as we can't really tell what you actually did on those projects).

I would try on big companies on career fairs. They know how to deal with people without any experience (Accenture, Avanade, HP, IBM etc.)

well right now, no matter where you go...job history matters...if not you need to have a canadian education...keep applying...you really just need to get your foot through the door..its obvious you are skilled and i would also suggest to get yourself properly prepped for interview...most companies are looking to see what you offer beyond the scope of your job even if they brought you in cos of your skills...
