Hi everyone,

I applied for AINP SRS Engineering occupation category (NOC 2232) in February 11th, but I got laid off in March 15th, but I didn't update with AINP at all since I wanted to wait until I get another professional job, but I haven't got lucky at all since job market is too slow right now. and I still haven't receive nomination, so I called them today, the receptionist lady told me my application is still in normal reviewing process and it shows they are in the process of contacting my employer, and she said normally I have to let them know as soon as my employment status has changed. and them I called my old boss, he said he hasn't received any calls from AINP yet.

here's my questions folks,
- does AINP actually call your employer if you are under Engineering occupation category?
- say if they do need to call employers, is it normal for AINP to still be in the process of calling my employer almost 4 months after I submitted my application?
- does it matter if I don't let them know I was laid off, according to this AINP website , only employer driven category applications will be withdrawn if got laid off, they didn't mention anything else.
- what would they do if they found out from calling HR that I am no longer employed with my old company, would they call me to ask me or they are just gonna withdraw my application without saying a word?

thank you guys, I know that's a lot of questions, but this is so important to me, what should I do?!

Hi ,

Yes they do call the employer and check if the applicant still works there

Yes it can take much longer. I known people that were done ainp within 7 months others take over a year.

We'll yes you still have to let them know about changes of course.
