Hey everyone, I've seen a few posts here discussing work permit extensions and I just received word that her application was rejected as she required an LMIA. She is working as a live-in nanny and was under the impression she didn't need one because she is still working for the same employer.
Her work permit expires on May 5, 2018, so that gives us only 15 days.
I did a little digging into the LMIA exemption codes and found under R207 that Permanent Residence Applicants in Canada do not require an LMIA. She doesn't have one, but it says "Family Members of the Above". Would it help if her sister is already a permanent resident in Canada instead of just an applicant?
Thanks for your help.
