Help! Funds available for my stay in Canada.

Hi! I am filling up my forms for my Student Visa. I'm just having trouble with the "funds available for my stay in Canada" part. My tuition is $15955.27, I don't need room and board funds because I will be living with my Aunt. She's 30 mins away from the College. For others, I wrote $5000. Is $10000 enough as "funds available for my stay in Canada"? Or should I put the total of my tuition plus others for the funds? Thank you! I kind of need an answer ASAP. Thanks again!

In the "funds available for my stay (CAD)" section I put the total amount of money I intended for my study in Canada, that's the total of tuition fee + room & board + others. If you have your room & board covered by your aunt then you only have tuition fee+others.

Funds available should include the total cost of your study, i.e. tuition fees+ living cost+ other expenses. Even if you are living with your aunt, i think it is best to show that you have the funds to bear your own accomodation and food costs unless of course you have clearly mentioned in yr application that you will be living with yr aunt (best supported by a letter for yr aunt).

The more clarity in the application and supporting documents the better.

Shouldn't we put in that field all the money that we can show as a fund that we would use for our stay? And what did you check in field 6, ...will be payed by? If I have RA position, get scholarship and have my own money, should I check other or myself?

Yes you should put in that field all the money that you can show as a fund that you would use for our stay.

As for field 6, depends on who is paying majority of yr costs?
If you have money in yr own name which is sufficient to cover all cost then you can mention Myself in field 6.
if funding is mixed (parents, scholarship, etc) it is more logical to mention "others" in field 6 and then explain in field 6(b). I am not sure, but this seems like the only logical step. you can call and talk to vfs to see if they can clarify.
