Hello everyone,
My name is Christian, and I am from Barcelona (Spain). Last week I was issued a chance to get work permit and also a visa going through the Working Holiday program, and the validity of it is until February 2018. Giving that I am from Europe, my visa permit is somehow attached to my European passport and it will work as long as my pasport is not expired (my passport expires also in February 2018).
This is what they sent me within the confirmation letter, and what makes me doubt:
" This visa has been affixed in your passport, and is valid for multiple visits to Canada until it expires. If you obtain a new passport before your visa expires, you will need to apply for a new visa."
And just after this there is a link to where I have to apply for a visa, and I will have to pay for that.
So my questions are:
- If I update my passport here in my country, will I lose my visa?
When I get to Canada they will interview me in order to get my work permit, so I guess there is no problem updating my passport, but I want to be sure, and if somehow I can not.
- Will I have to go through all the prosses to aplly for a new visa?
