I'm having a bit of trouble filling out my applications... Please HELP ME as much as possible with my questions..

1) In the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form, I filled out the entire following (question 7:EDUCATION) and (question 8: PERSONAL HISTORY) on the separate sheet of paper because of some part requiring more space. Instead, i decided to do the entire questions on separate paper. Is that OK/GOOD for CIC or not ????? **Same goes for my work experience as it didn't have enough space for my main duties/occupation

2) Also, in the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form, on the (question 8: Personal History), if i'm travelling/unemployed/summer holidays, what information should i put under (Name of school, employer, school, etc) ?????

3) On the Schedule 8 ECONOMIC CLASSES form, I graduated from college last year, and i started my VERY FIRST job in Canada on 07/20/2010 - present, so on the (question 4: WORK IN CANADA), should i click YES or NO ?????

4) Also, on the document checklist, they say submit "most recent T4 tax information SLIPS", but i only have 1 page of T4, so am i missing something ????

5) Also on the document checklist, they say " if you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live", so what EXCATLY they ask for ???? study permit or work permit ????

THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Please help me...!!!!

It's OK, but do you really need the extra space? Or are you trying to put information that is not asked for? For education, I would only add an extra sheet if I attended more than 5 post-secondary schools...

Whatever you do, do not leave the boxes blank, or your application will likely be returned as incomplete. At least write in "See attached page"

**Same goes for my work experience as it didn't have enough space for my main duties/occupation

Are you still taking about Schedule A, Background Declaration? If you're talking about Section 7, personal history, you do NOT fill in main duties - an abbreviated job title will do. Only add additional pages if you need to list more than 5 activities (most of us do).

If you're talking about Schedule 8, try to complete the work experience on the form. It only allows 3 duties per position, so choose wisely. Remember, there will be more detailed information in your Letter(s) of Employment.

2) Also, in the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form, on the (question 8: Personal History), if i'm travelling/unemployed/summer holidays, what information should i put under (Name of school, employer, school, etc) ?????

Write in N/A ("not applicable")

3) On the Schedule 8 ECONOMIC CLASSES form, I graduated from college last year, and i started my VERY FIRST job in Canada on 07/20/2010 - present, so on the (question 4: WORK IN CANADA), should i click YES or NO ?????

Really??? :) All kidding aside, I agree the question is badly worded. But OF COURSE you click yes, and then (apparently) 1 year or more. If you click no, you are not qualified for CEC.

4) Also, on the document checklist, they say submit "most recent T4 tax information SLIPS", but i only have 1 page of T4, so am i missing something ????

No. T4s are only 1 page. But if you've been in Canada for more than one year, you should have more than one T4 (even students should file a tax return). Note I am not saying CIC wants ALL your T4s, only those covering the relevant work experience, hence "MOST RECENT." Keep in mind that for some people that will cover 2-3 years...

5) Also on the document checklist, they say " if you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live", so what EXCATLY they ask for ???? study permit or work permit ????

Yes :) Both. OK, since you are currently authorized under a work permit, your work permit serves as your current "visa." However, you need to submit copies of your study permits anyway (see section 5 of the checklist).

THANK YOU SO MUCH.... Jess.. I'm still confused about some things you just mention it to me ...

1) In the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form, on the (question 7:EDUCATION), do i need to fill out PRIMARY SCHOOL details or just after SECONDARY school onwards ????

2) Also in the BACKGROUND/DECLARATION form, (question 8: PERSONAL HISTORY) Under the "activity", you said that "an abbreviated job title will do", so my job title is SHIFT MANAGER, FAST FOOD RESTAURANT. so how should i abbreviate my job title ??

3) I'm still confused about T4... they say submit "most recent T4 tax information SLIPS". I have never filed the T4 even for my schools. This is my FIRST JOB. So can i ONLY ONLY submit the one page of T4 paper that is (WORK EXPERIENCE NOT the school T4 )that my boss gave it to me for 2010 ???? So just submit my (2010 one page T4) that my boss gave it to me right ????

4) ) Also on the document checklist, they say " if you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live", So can it be ONLY MOST RECENT study permit and work permit ?????

THANKSSS JESSS......

Read the instructions on the form. It says "Give full details of all the secondary and post-secondary education..."

Write "Shift manager" and then the employer's name in the appropriate box. I'm pretty sure the "fast food restaurant" will be obvious :)

3) I'm still confused about T4... they say submit "most recent T4 tax information SLIPS". I have never filed the T4 even for my schools. This is my FIRST JOB. You don't "file" a T4, you RECEIVE a T4 or T4A if you have income in Canada (that includes stipends for students; but whether or not you had income as a student, you should've filed a tax return). Apologies if I confused you, by FILE I meant "file your income tax return" after which you receive a Notice of Assessment (the other tax document you need to supply).

If you only have one T4, you only have one T4.

4) ) Also on the document checklist, they say " if you live in a country different from your nationality, include a photocopy of your visa for the country where you currently live", So can it be ONLY MOST RECENT study permit and work permit ?????

Hey Jess and Sita, how are you guys ????

So Jess, i went to college in 2007 - April 2010. During that period of school, i didn't work at all. Also, i didn't FILED my tax return for my school. After i graduated, i started work in August 2010. So this year, when i got my T4 for 2010 and T4A for my school years (2007-2010), i filed my income tax return.....Eventually, i got my NOA for 2007, 2008, 2009 with NO INCOME reported and 2010 with income reported

So for CEC, i just need to supply the 2010 T4 SLIP and NOA 2010 right ???

THANK YOU JESS, I KNOW THIS IS TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR YOU... THANKSSS

I'm confused about what everyone is confused about :) If you have only worked one year for one employer, you will only have one T4. If you have worked 2 years, 2 T4s... if you have worked 1 year but for 3 different employers, 3 T4s... Each according to his/her own circumstance. There's nothing hidden.

That is enough, yes. And file your 2011 taxes as early as possible, in case CIC asks for them.
